Carl Cozier Chess Kick-off (Chess Tournament)
A chess tournament and playday for chessplayers of all abilities!

Schedule:
Check-in 8:15 - 8:45am. All players must check-in. Late check-ins will receive a half-point bye for Round 1.
Opening ceremonies at 9:00am. Start times for each round: 9:30, 10:45, noon, 1:15, 2:30. Awards ceremony 4:00pm or ASAP.
Entry Fee:
$13.00 ($12.00 + $1.00 online convenience fee)

TO ENTER: Players must pre-register to play. No on-site entries. Note that we will accept checks as well as credit card payment, but please proceed with online registration through Signup4Chess even if you are paying by check. All mail-in checks must be postmarked no later than Wednesday, November 12 so that we can process your payment and confirm your online registration before the event.

Mailed in checks are also accepted. IMPORTANT NOTE: Mail-in Payments must be postmarked no later than 11/8/2008. Late entries may be returned unopened. Please proceed with online registration even if you plan to mail-in your payment.

Format:
Five round Swiss (no elimination). Game/30 (maximum one hour for each game.) Tournament rated by the Northwest Scholastic Rating System. Pairings by computer.
Time Control:
Five round Swiss (no elimination). Game/30 (maximum one hour for each game.)
Awards:
Trophies to the top 8 in all sections. Every player in K-1 section will get a medal. Medals to all players 2-8 who qualify for State (score 3.0 or more). Ties broken by computer as per WHSCA rules.
