Grade level – all students play
other students only within their own grade.
Format:
Five round Swiss System, NWSRS Rated. Tournament will be computer
paired, and all ties will be broken by computer administered tie-break
systems.
Entry Fee: $25.00
+ $1.75 (online convenience fee) –
No refunds. Pre-registration required - no on-site entries. Deadline for signups is April 7.
Concessions: Besides
pre-ordered lunches, there will be some limited concessions on-site (safest
to pre-order). Exhibition Hall
does not allow outside food or drink to be brought on premises.
Schedule:
Cancellations from 7:30-8:00. Rounds (estimated):
9:00, 10:30, 12:00, 1:30, and 3:00. The award ceremony should start
by 5:00.
Time Control: G/30;
digital clocks preferred – set to G/25 with 5 sec. delay.
Awards: Trophies
– Top 25 each grade, Top 25 teams (grades K-3 and 4-6), all
3.0 or above and all K participants receive an award.
Players must check in either Thursday
April 19 or Friday April 20. Check-in procedure
will be posted on our website www.PlayingForTheKing.com/2007State.
Players that do not check-in will be at risk of not playing in the first round.
Registration: Registration for the tournament will start in January. This will include player registrations for all three events (bughouse, championship, and “I Love Chess Too”), meal selections, souvenirs (T-shirts, chess boards, etc), and team tables.

Volunteers: To make this tournament run smoothly, we are requesting that volunteers sign up through our web site. This will be a great way to help the kids have a memorable experience. Many hands make light work! And most of the positions do not require any chess knowledge. |
